NPYT & The Millennium Goals
What are the Millennium Development Goals?
In 2005 the World Summit of the United Nations, at their headquarters in New York, member states agreed on a kind of ten year plan; the Millennium Project that would reduce poverty and many of the worlds inequalities addressed through atainable 'Millennium Development Goals'(MDGs). There are eight MDGs which range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education, all by the target date of 2015. These form the blueprint agreed to by all the world’s countries and all the world’s leading development institutions.
